Aleger Reed organ--Reconstructing missing decorative top

 

Dale is in the woodshop.  The beginnings of the new top .

 All elements in the new casework are taken from the same element found in the existing organ case.  We had no photo nor drawing of the original organ top

Gingerbread elements were taken from the front grill beneath the keyboard.

 Here is a full view  The  mirror and the carvings were  done. Stain and a new shellac finish wa applied.  A local mirror shop made a beveled mirror to the size needed.  Customer loved it.  Because of the time involved with design and execution, this craftsmanship cost the customer around $2K
